MacroFashion
MacroFashion is a non-profit organization committed to "Uniting the arts for a cause." The showcase will collaborate fashion, dance and art to help eliminate world hunger. The first ever MacroFashion showcase is set for October 3, 2008 at Republic of New Orleans and will premiere the talents of many local and regional artists in the media of fashion design, dance, and the visual arts. All proceeds will benefit the Hunger Project.
The Hunger Project is a global, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The Hunger Project empowers millions of women and men to end their own hunger. The organization has pioneered low-cost, bottom-up, gender focused strategies in each region where hunger persists. These strategies mobilize clusters of rural villages to create and run their own programs that achieve lasting progress in health, education, nutrition, and family income. More information on the Hunger Project can be found at www.thp.org.
The theme for the MacroFashion showcase is "Fashion Global Influences" encompassing seven regions from across the globe as inspiration: United States, France, China, India, Russia, Scandinavia, and South Africa. Combing choreography, fashion and the arts, the artists will be free to use global inspiration to create a unique event of the year.
This Summer!
